Restoration of Damaged Photos and Documents

We work from your damaged original photograph or document and restore the image to its original condition. We begin by digitizing the damaged picture and removing dust, tearing, folds, stains, scratches, smoke and water damage.

This was the only print of a photo taken of former KC Royal's catcher Daryl Porter. It sustained severe smoke and water damage in a fire. The original photo measured 24" x 36" and was permanently glued to the glass. The original color quality was restored and the creases, scratches and smoke damage were removed. We provided several replacement prints at the original size.

This badly damaged and faded photograph measured only 2"x 3". It was stained, scratched and creased. We removed all the damage and reconstructed her face. We were able to enlarge it to 8"x10" after completely restoring this image.

1923 Haskell football team is welcomed to New York City by the major at Yankee Stadium. Jim Thorpe is on the front row 5th from the left. This photograph was in terrible shape. It had been rolled, creased, stained, and burned.

Our client found this badly stained and cracked photo of his brother's helicopter flight school graduation picture. Many of these men died in Vietnam. Some of the creases and cracks ran across men's faces. The stains and crease marks were removed and the faces rebuilt. It was a birthday gift to his brother.

An old Polaroid photo from the 1970's was found, faded and scribbled on with markers. The marker ink was removed, color adjusted, scratches and dust removed, and a little sharpening was applied.

A client brought us his favorite wedding day photograph of his wife who had recently died. It was badly stained and the color had almost completely faded to a dull orange. The stains and imperfections were removed, the color restored and the image sharpened.

This family photograph from the 1940s was creased, stained, and faded. The cracks were fixed, the stains removed, the tonality adjusted and it was minimally sharpened.

This image restoration began from an old print that hand nearly faded to black. The original image was barely discernible because of the chemical changes to the proof print. We restored the original tonality and removed chemical staining and mold. We were able to provide the client prints of the restored image.

This project started from a small tintype in a velvet and metal frame. Both the tintype and it's frame were damaged and faded. We restored the portrait and the frame and reconstructed the gilt details and velvet.

This marriage license from 1917 was faded and stained. The color was restored and the stains were removed.

Our client brought us a photo of her husband as a boy with his dog. It's hard to imagine how this photo could have been more damaged. It was faded, stained, crumpled and a section of his leg was missing. The tonality was adjusted, the streaks, stains and scratches were removed. The missing part of the leg was reconstructed and seamlessly added.

This is a detail of a family portrait taken around the turn of the century. The photo had faded and there were several prior attempts to repair torn sections using cellophane tape. We realigned the torn sections, removed the tears and tape lines and restored the photograph's original detail and tonality.
